This Porsche 917/LH (Lang Heck) long tail was built for Le Mans. It was entered by the Salzburg team driven by Vic Elford and Kurt Ahrens Jr. and set on pole with an average speed of 242 kph.
Borrowed from the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart, Germany, Porsche Cars North America displayed this car at the 2012 Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance. In this picture, the historic race car is waiting to be moved to its display destination.
