In Pictures: Nick Tandy reclaims lead in Carrera Cup Deutschland

British driver Nick Tandy has reclaimed the lead in the Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland. Tandy (Konrad Motorsport) took his second win of the season at the Nurburgring sprint circuit - benefitting from the misfortune of fellow Brit Sean Edwards. Edwards (Team Deutsche Post by tolimit) started from pole position and led for 20 laps, but suffered tyre damage three laps before the end.

Jaap van Laagen (Netherlands, Land Motorsport) secured a second place, and Austrian driver Norbert Siedler (Aust Motorsport) third; twice-champion Uwe Alzen managed his best result so far this season with fourth place.

“I had my share of bad luck this year", said Tandy. "But today I was lucky. It’s crazy that I’m back at the top of the points’ table. The race was interesting. I was faster than Sean, but as soon as I got close to him I lost downforce. But at least I could put him under pressure.”

The seventh and penultimate round of the Carrera Cup Deutschland will take place in Oschersleben on 18th September, and it's now between Tandy and Edwards for the drivers' championship. Last year's runner-up Tandy currently leads with 102 points, with Edwards at 98; Jeroen Bleekemolen follows with 84, and Jaap van Laagen at 74. However, Edwards' Team Deutsche Post by tolimit leads the team table with 157 points, ahead of Tandy's Konrad Motorsport (124).
